Sophia High School, a UK based online school offering the U.K. National Curriculum, is reimagining primary education by being the first online education provider in the UK to offer full time online learning for students from as young as Year 1.

In a growing online school market, which has seen a rise in new entrants within the secondary phase of online education, Sophia High School emerges as a leader and innovator within the online education sector through the success of its virtual primary campus, in particular within the lower primary phase of the School.

Chief Education Officer at Sophia High School, Melissa McBride comments:
“Our growth story at Sophia High has shown the need and demand for quality online primary school options which provide students and families with a full-time online model of learning for children, based on the best of a British independent school education.

We stand apart from the field in offering a live online learning programme for students from as young as Year 1, as our competition seems to be focused on online education for older students.  We are determined to lead from the front with regards to providing outstanding online provision and the highest quality learning outcomes for our students and families.”

Underpinned by the core values of Trust, Quality, Community, Safety and Innovation, Sophia High School places a strong emphasis on delivering a personalised approach to learning, which is targeted at the age specific learning needs of its students, in order to create a learning environment which is highly engaging, motivational and inspiring for students.
David McCarthy, Director of Education at Sophia High School adds:

“Our success can be attributed to our unique model of learning, which ensures small online class sizes in the core subjects of no more than six students per teacher.  This ensures that every child is engaged in interactive real-time learning activities alongside their peers during our live lessons, and enables our team of fully qualified teachers to develop close relationships with our students and families, in order to support each child with their personalised learning journey.  These crucial elements are virtually impossible in online environments where class numbers are in excess of 30 plus students per live session, or where limited curriculum time for the core subjects is provided in the live teaching and learning timetabled sessions.”

Offering full time online schooling for children from as young as five years old, Sopha High School is pioneering best practice in online learning through its commitment to providing students with an exceptional learning experience from lower primary upwards, in a safe online environment.

Father of a Year 1 student at the School, Hugh Assagra comments:
“Our daughter started her school life here in the UK about 3 years ago, having studied in 2 different private schools. However, on both occasions, the education framework proposed was very similar: a levelled, standardised and well-delimited teaching framework applied to dozens of children.  Although those schools were great in terms of their tradition, reputation and physical infrastructure, we were not 100% satisfied. We always thought a school with a tailored approach capable of focusing on the key challenges whilst stretching the areas of high performance or greater aptitude would be ideal for our little one, and this is exactly what we have found in Sophia and its teachers.Being an online school, they would face challenges like keeping children ‘s attention and truly engaging with them.

However, the fantastic body of education professionals which are able, not only to handle the class very well, but also to identify areas of focus or additional development make this journey seamless. In reimagining the future of education in the online world, Sophia High School is driving a forward-thinking approach to online schooling during an unparalleled period of growth in the EdTech sector.

Led by an Education team which shares over 48 years of Headship and teaching experience in outstanding British Independent Schools, what defines the School is its commitment to ensuring that every Sophia High student makes exceptional progress and, when faced with what is currently an unregulated industry in the UK, it continues to raise the bar for the gold star standard of remote learning practice in the primary and secondary phases of online education.
Sophia High School is now accepting enrolments into its 2021 – 2022 cohort, for students from Year 1 through to Year 9 (age 5 – 14) and is open to families in UK and globally, who wish their children to join an online school which offers the UK National Curriculum.

The School offers a free educational consultancy call with Director of Education, David McCarthy, for interested families.   To schedule please email ceo@sophiahigh.school
