It operates by utilizing Apple’s Secure Enclave, a hardware-integrated security core. This chip secretly creates an unforgeable cryptographic key. An application uses this key to ask Apple’s servers for a token when it wishes to verify that it is operating on an authentic Apple device. After that, the token is returned as a signed certificate of authenticity to the developer’s server.
