During the EQUIP AUTO exhibition which is being held next week as part of Paris Automotive Week, GULPLUG, start-up accelerating the energy transition and clean mobility will unveil SELFPLUG®, its Automatic Connection Device for Electric Vehicles integrated into the NextCar, a NextMove vehicle embedding multiple innovations.
SELFPLUG®, a recognized sustainable impact solution
SELFPLUG® is an end to end Hands-Free Charging system for Electric Vehicles, installed on the home parking slot. It allows charging over the entire power range up to 43 kW AC and 100 kW DC.
SELFPLUG® is a direct answer to the three most common objections provided by people hesitating to switch to an Electric Vehicle: Range, Charge and Price.
With SELFPLUG®, the battery is charged each and every morning; no more range issues, no more charging chores, no more need to drive to a charging station. The new charging strategy proposed by SELFPLUG® extends the life of the battery, reducing the cost of use of the Electric Vehicle.
Beyond the comfort provided for the car user, the Hands-Free Charging system is a huge opportunity for the electrical grid. SELFPLUG® provides the grid with up to ten times the storage capacity. This capacity can be used to balance demand and electricity production instead of the gas-fired power plants used today.
