Release date, specs and price.

Updated December 19, 2022, 2:27 PM ET We’ve added additional information about the official global launch date for the OnePlus 11.

Original article We saw a regular smartphone release schedule starting in the beginning. OnePlus. There was a standard flagship phone in the first half of the year and a “T” upgrade in the second half. However, things have become a lot more confusing at this point. In 2023, we can’t even be sure there will be a OnePlus 11 Pro, even though we’ve seen a new Pro phone every year since the OnePlus 7 Pro back in 2019.

Regardless of the company’s ever-more-confusing portfolio, the OnePlus 11 Pro could end up being one of the better phones from the brand. What should we expect? And what do we want to see? Here’s what we know and our wishlist for the OnePlus 11 Pro.

Will there be a OnePlus 11 Pro model?

As we pointed out earlier, OnePlus’ portfolio is VeryThe moment is confusing. The T line skipped the 9 Series, but returned for the 10T, the R and RT series are regional exclusives, and in 2022 we didn’t even see a vanilla model launch alongside the OnePlus 10 Pro.

If we base our guess on what the company has done previously, then it’s very reasonable to expect a OnePlus 11 Pro to launch within the first three months of 2023. However, it appears that the company is still trying to find its feet. its merger with Oppo. It’s possible, then, that OnePlus could revamp its strategy completely in 2023. If that happens, then it’s anyone’s guess as to what the company will do.

But, a tipter can share a social post. Digital Chat Station on Weibo — a popular social media website in China — did suggest that OnePlus is planning to launch a phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip later this year. There’s a possibility this rumor could be referring to the OnePlus 11 Pro here.

Another rumor from prominent tippers OnLeaks MaxJmb suggests that the company could even drop the “Pro” moniker, presumably to help streamline the series. So OnePlus’ new flagship phone may just be called the OnePlus 11.

For now, we don’t have any confirmation one way or the other. We are assuming the company’s 2023 flagship will be the OnePlus 11 Pro until we hear otherwise.

  • OnePlus 8 Pro and 8 — April 14, 2020
  • OnePlus 9, 9 Pro and 9R — March 23, 2021
  • OnePlus 10 Pro (China) — January 11, 2022
  • OnePlus 10 Pro (Global) — March 31, 2022

OnePlus launched its flagship phones every year in March or April. However, the company launched OnePlus 2 in 2022. OnePlus 10 ProIt was launched in January, much earlier than usual. Although this launch was for the Chinese version of the phone, it was functionally identical to the one that was launched for global markets in March 2022.

It looks like the company will once again launch the handset at the beginning of 2023, however, it won’t be in January. OnePlus revealed that it will launch the OnePlus 11 worldwide on February 7, 2023 during its Cloud 11 Event. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will join the launch of this phone.

What features and specs will OnePlus 11 Pro include?

We expect companies not to change the features of the current version but to keep them in the future. OnePlus actually decreased the quality of the OnePlus 10 Pro in comparison to the OnePlus 10. OnePlus 9 Pro. Therefore, all bets are off — the company could do pretty much anything with the OnePlus 11 Pro.

Design

Up until the OnePlus 8 seriesThe company had a very deliberate design aesthetic. It made some changes for the OnePlus 9 series, and then again for the OnePlus 10 Pro. The company may change its design ethos for the OnePlus 11, possibly with the OnePlus 11. A leaked render revealed that OnePlus will probably deviate from the 10 Pro’s design, introducing a new circular rear camera bump.

One thing that won’t be going anywhere is the Hasselblad partnership and, most likely, the Hasselblad logo emblazoned on the back of the phone. OnePlus will be focusing on this three-year partnership that began in 2021 with OnePlus 9 series. That at least means we’ll get more Hasselblad influence on the OnePlus 11 Pro.

The OnePlus 11 Pro will almost certainly have a few of these features, but there are many more.

Another design element that’s probably sticking around is the alert slider. The alert slider can still be seen on the right side of these renders. Rumors suggestThis could be a OnePlus move to eliminate this feature for all its devices, except for the Pro-level models. If this is true, the OnePlus 11 Pro will be safe and continue to use this popular feature.

OnePlus’ Pro-level devices have always been large with curved displays, so it was assumed the OnePlus 11 would continue this trend. A rumorThis seems to be supported by Digital Chat Station. The leak also revealed that the screen could contain a single punch hole for a selfie camera in its top left corner. Rumours suggest that the body could be made of ceramic and have a metal frame.

A leak from veteran leaker Steve ‘OnLeaks‘ Hemmerstoffer and Gadget Gang surfaced in early December that’s supposedly an official render of the handset. The OnePlus 11 is now available for us to see unofficially.

OnePlus 11 Onleaks and GadgetGang

The phone was rumored to be available in glossy green and matte black finishes. This leaked render seems strongly to support this rumor. What’s more, it appears these colorways are called Volcanic Black and Forest Emerald. It’s currently unknown if these will be the only two options or if there will be more colors to choose from.

Specifications and features

We can see what OnePlus most cared about with the 10 Pro to predict what the OnePlus 11 might bring. The OnePlus 11 will have at least a three-lens camera system at the rear, likely with wide, ultrawide and telephoto lenses. You can expect incredibly fast charging speeds — rumors100W could be used with a cable, though this could also be used. restricted in the US).

It’s also expected that you’ll see one of the highest-quality displays in the industry (6.7-inch QHD+ OLED screen according to rumors), wireless charging, a 5,000mAh battery, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. In November, it was confirmed that the OnePlus 11 would indeed be the first phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

According to a late October leak Digital Chat StationThe OnePlus 11 (or whatever else it is called) may come with a 50MP +48 MP + 32MP setup. The tipter also confirmed that the phone would have a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged with 100W. Rumours suggest that the phone could have 16GB of RAM and UFS-4.0 storage.

What shouldn’t you expect? You shouldn’t put money on industry-defining camera hardware, as OnePlus has never pushed the limits in that regard. Instead, expect good hardware that matches the majority premium phones on market. You also shouldn’t expect an IP rating on the unlocked model, as OnePlus hasn’t given that any importance over the past year. Based on recent OnePlus flagships, you also shouldn’t expect a microSD card slot, more than 256GB of internal storage, or a headphone jack.

What is the OnePlus 11 Pro’s price?

Eric Zeman/Android Authority

  • OnePlus 8 Pro — $899
  • OnePlus 9 Pro — $969
  • OnePlus 10 Pro — $899

The company’s strategy with its flagships will affect the price of OnePlus 11 Pro. If the company wants to compete with the likes of the OnePlus 11 Pro, it will need to go all out. Samsung Galaxy S22 UltraThe iPhone 14 Pro MaxIt could also raise the price to over 1,000 dollars. It must continue to compete with the likes of the in the premium segment. Google Pixel 7 Pro iPhone 14 ProIt would need to remain the same price at $899 as the 10 Pro when it launched.

We are confident that OnePlus will keep the price range below $900. We simply don’t see the company trying to compete with phones over the $1,000 mark. As such, it’s safe to expect the OnePlus 11 Pro’s price to be very similar to that of the OnePlus 10 Pro — or possibly even lower.

What other phones are possible to launch in the OnePlus 11 Series?

Rumors claim that OnePlus is also developing a device called OnePlus 11R.

OnLeaks – Prolific leakers MySmartPriceThe specifications of the phone were obtained by us. They suggest that it may have a 6.7-inch Full HD+ MOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the OnePlus 10R.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the OnePlus 11R will have the latest and greatest from Qualcomm — aka the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to leaks, the phone will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon8 Plus Gen 1 processor. However, this is a change from the predecessor’s Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max chip.

Other leaked specs of the OnePlus 11R include 8GB/16GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, a 50MP main sensor,  an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro shooter.

Last but not least, the device might have a 5,000mAh lithium battery that can be charged at 100W SuperVOOC speed.

OnePlus 11 Pro: What are we looking for?

We’ve already discussed the things you can expect (and not expect) from the OnePlus 11 Pro. We want to talk about the things we really want. We don’t have any evidence to support that OnePlus might deliver these, but we certainly hope it does.

Better camera hardware

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s biggest failure was the way the company actually downgraded its camera hardware compared with the OnePlus 9 Pro. Particularly, the ultrawide lens experienced a substantial drop in quality.

We hope the OnePlus 11 Pro camera hardware is significantly better than the 10 Pro’s. Also, we hope OnePlus drops the “ultra-ultrawide” gimmick of the 10 Pro. A 150-degree fisheye lens of low quality is not a replacement for the standard, all-around high quality sensor that users have come to expect.

All variants at once

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority

The OnePlus 10 Pro Pro is available in the United States starting April 2022. The phone was available in one configuration, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In some other countries, there was a 12/256GB model, but the US didn’t see it.

OnePlus launched the 12/256GB model in the US in June. The US was home to OnePlus enthusiasts who had likely already paid for the 8/128GB model. So, the launch of the 12/256GB model may have been a surprise to some buyers.

In 2023, we hope the OnePlus 11 Pro launches in all configurations in all of OnePlus’ territories at the same time to avoid any buyer regret!

A formal IP rating

However, the IP rating of the OnePlus 10 Pro was only available in certain situations. The T-MobileThe variant, for instance, had one, while unlocked models did not. We hope the OnePlus 11 Pro doesn’t ignore this fundamental aspect of premium flagship smartphones. All premium OnePlus models should be IP68-rated.

More stable, faster and better updates

Oxygen OS 12 Beta About Phone Page

OnePlus was a leader in software updates back in the day. The company has been known for slow, inconsistent, and sometimes totally unstable updates to its phones in recent years.

OnePlus had promised Oppo that it would merge with OnePlus. fix these problemsHowever, the OnePlus 10 Pro was quite popular with OxygenOS 12. We can only hope that the OnePlus 11 Pro gets the software support commitment that OnePlus fans expect and deserve — especially if the company is trying to compete against the likes of Samsung and Google.
