Asus will soon release a new Xbox PC controller that features an OLED screen, a variety of connectivity options, and a built-in OLED display. The ROG Raikiri Pro’s OLED display is 1.3 inches in size and can display custom animations, status of the battery or microphone, and much more.
The OLED screen (128 x 40 resolution), will primarily be used to swap profiles during games or to check the charge or microphone status, Bluetooth pairing and play text or animated background. This custom animation reminds me of the OLED screen that replaced my Xbox “jewel”. The Duke console has been revamped in 2018Or the Sega Dreamcast console.
Two buttons on top of Raikiri Pro enable you to switch the controller profile while playing. This includes button remapping and joystick sensitivity. Dead zones can also be customized with Asus’ Armory Crate for PC. You also have four programmable back buttons and trigger locks.
This is also the Xbox controller licensed with tri mode connectivity. This includes Bluetooth, 2.4GHz Radio Frequency mode, and wired USB. The Raikiri Pro features the Xbox design but Asus refers to it as a professional controller that can connect to a PC via wired USB. This could mean that some of the pro features won’t work on the PC.
Raikiri Pro also features an ESS DAC, 3.5mm headphones jack, and a mute button. Asus has not yet provided pricing information or a release date for Raikiri Pro. It will be available sometime in Q1 of this year, all we know.
Who will be the next? Death run it?
