It’s not always easy to choose among the walls of options, jumping from one app to the other and looking for the perfect movie night selection. To simplify things for you, we’ve compiled some of the best new streaming movies to watch this week and to enjoy over Thanksgiving weekend.

    Comedy writer and star Billy Eichner is the romantic comedy that addresses the very straight history behind the genre. Eichner plays Bobby. He is a gay man who doesn’t want to be in long-term relationships, but is sick of using dating apps and getting hooked up with empty women. He meets Aaron, a similarly commitment-phobic man who is just as attracted to Bobby as he is to him, despite their differences.

That all changes when the high school queen bee suddenly dies and wants Darby’s help convincing her friends to celebrate her 17th birthday party even though she can’t attend.

    Lady Chatterley’s Lover (2022)

Lady Chatterley falls in love with her husband and begins a forbidden affair with the family gamekeeper.

    The Independent is a new Peacock original movie. It stars Jodie Turner Smith, Luke Kirby and Stephen Lang. Ann Dowd and John Cena are also featured in the film. The film is about a journalist covering an historic election that could disrupt the entire two-party system. She discovers a massive government conspiracy and it could be the decisive factor in the election.

She seeks refuge in the home and daughter of a kind cabin owner. Will she be able to experience the true spirit Christmas without having to return to her past?

    Green Room (2015)

    The sequel to Enchanted drops on Disney Plus 15 year after the original film. It sees Giselle and Robert moving to a new community. The move throws off balance in the real world as well as Andalasia. Disenchanted stars Amy Adams (Amy Adams), Patrick Dempsey and Maya Rudolph. Idina Menzel and James Marsden are also featured.

    The People We Hate at the Marriage (2022)

    This new Amazon comedy follows two bickering siblings who travel, with their mother, to their estranged half-sister’s wedding in the English countryside. Things don’t go as planned. Claire Scanlon directs the film and stars Allison Janney and Ben Platt as well as Cynthia AddaiRobinson and Kristen Bell.

    You can revisit Charles Dickens’s Victorian Christmas classic Christmas CarolThis is the new, looser adaptation of the movie that Apple TV Plus has. This musical, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, is set in the present and follows a misanthrope who is visited by ghosts that take him on a magical, redemption-oriented journey. If you want a more classical interpretation, there will also be Netflix’s animated Scrooge: A Christmas Carol in December.

When she suddenly becomes cured, the only way to save her life is to clone her. The two of them will have to fight until the end in a dual. So begins the woman’s training for survival.

    A Yiddish vampire aged just 115 finds his way to heaven when he meets a girl who claims she is his daughter. The young vampire appears to be telling the truth and now he sees a chance to have a family as his old muscle car takes him around America.

    Cyrano (2021)

    Peter Dinklage in Cyrano - best new streaming movies

    Joe Wright adapts Cyrano de Bergerac’s classic story in this underappreciated gem. Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage stars as the titular Cyrano, who, despite his cunning way with words, fears that his appearance makes him unlovable by the object of his affections, Roxanne. He comes up with a plan to win her affection anyway.
