Based on data from more than 750,000 people endpointsThe report, distributed all over the globe, stated that the average cost of data breaches will be $5 million by next Year.

Researchers expect breaches to continue to grow exponentially, which is just the worst part. They found that malicious and fraudulent emails were responsible for 60% of the increase in email-related threats year-over-year.

New attack methods require new solutions.

Social engineering attacks increased in the fourth quarter of the year and now account for nearly 33% of all attacks. Leaked or stolen passwordsNearly half the cybersecurity incidents reported in 2022’s first half were caused by other credentials.

“The past few months have proven more complex than ever — with new threats constantly emerging and malicious actors continuing to use the same proven playbook to elicit large payments,” said Candid Wüest, Acronis Vice President of Cybersecurity Research.

“Organizations must prioritize end-to-end solutions when looking to mitigate phishing and other hacking attempts in the new year. Attackers are constantly evolving their methods, and are now using common security tools against us – such as MFA, which many companies rely on to protect their employees and businesses.” .

The third quarter of 2015 saw an increase in phishing attacks against malicious malware attacks by 1.3x. They now account for more than three quarters (76%)of all email attacks. This is an increase of 58% from the first half of 2015.

While most victims were located in the United States of America, many companies in Germany, Brazil and Brazil were also affected. The largest malware targets were also South Korea’s, Jordan’s, and China’s endpoints.
