Have you heard of recycled forklift trucks? Without a doubt, they are a great way to save money and contribute to regenerative processes. Companies such as CYCLICA   are in charge of selling this type of machinery and ensuring aspects such as durability and variety of models.

In today’s article, we tell you everything you need to know about CYCLICA’s used forklifts, from what they are, to what types exist and why they are important. Take note!

    What are upcycled forklifts?

Forklifts are an indispensable piece of machinery in companies with warehouses and ensure the smooth running of the warehouse. They take care of tasks such as loading and unloading materials and are therefore essential for the efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse. In addition, they greatly facilitate the processes of transporting and placing goods in the warehouse.

As far as their operation is concerned, forklift trucks are characterised by the fact that they are powered by an engine and there are many types of them. Keep reading because we will explain them to you!

What types of forklift trucks are there?

    1. Manual pallet truck

This is the perfect type of forklift truck for everyday use, as it is easy to use and simple to load, unload and prepare all types of goods. In addition, it has little impact on the environment and has a low cost compared to other types of forklift trucks.

Among its main features are the following:

    – It has no engine and its movement is due to human traction.

    – It has a simple lifting mechanism.

    – The maximum weight they can support is 2 tons.

    2. Electric pallet truck

These are forklift trucks with motors and batteries, so they are designed for the comfort of the users who use them. In this aspect, they are a must in most shops and for unloading lorries.

Among their features, the following stand out:

    – Higher speed movement.

    – Better performance over long distances.

    3. Electric stackers

They are mainly used in warehouses that need palletised loads, which means that they can be more than 4 metres high. In this way, electric stackers are responsible for placing the products on the highest shelves and are used in warehouses of larger dimensions.

They are also widely used in supermarkets and companies with construction materials.

    4. Counterbalanced forklift trucks

Counterbalanced forklift trucks are considered the best forklift trucks for heavy loads, as their name suggests. In this respect, they are capable of lifting goods to 7 metres high and carrying between 1 and 60 tonnes. Without a doubt, they are very versatile forklift trucks!

They are the right ones for production line transport, stacking, order picking and horizontal transport.

    5. Reach trucks

These are best suited for horizontal transport, but are also suitable for indoor stacking, making them a very versatile option.

In addition, they are particularly useful for storing pallets that require high reach and stability. Their maximum height is 12 metres and they can support loads of up to 1,400 kilos.

Its mast moves inwards, providing a better centre of gravity and making it possible to reach these heights and weights. Also, it is worth mentioning its main feature: the driver sits at 90 degrees, making driving completely different.

    6. Automatic forklift trucks

An automatic forklift truck, also known as an Automatic Guided Vehicle, works without a driver, i.e. they are programmed in advance to know where they have to drive and what picking up and dropping off tasks they have to do.

In addition, this type of forklift scans the surroundings and the work area, detecting if there are people in the way, so they can move without collisions or accidents!

The importance of forklift trucks in warehouses

If forklift trucks stand out for anything, as we have seen throughout the text, it is their presence in warehouses.

They are almost indispensable in the supply chain and play a fundamental role in the efficiency and productivity of numerous industries. Here are the reasons why they are so important:

    – Efficient load control. Forklift trucks are capable of moving heavy loads quickly and safely, making loading and unloading operations in distribution centres much quicker.

    – Space optimization. As they are capable of stacking goods in vertical racks, they help to optimize the available space in warehouses to the maximum, making the most of storage space.

    – Injury prevention. Another reason for their use in warehouses is the safety they provide for workers. In this aspect, they minimize the manual use of heavy objects and also prevent accidents.

    – Adaptability and versatility. With the types and sizes of forklift trucks available, there is no doubt that they are very versatile machines and cover many needs in work environments and various industries such as construction or agriculture.
