HURGHADA, Egypt: Splashing pools, thrill slides and family-friendly leisure took centre stage for Rixos Hotels Egypt this week, as the brand’s flagship aqua attraction was named Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026 at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony. The evening, staged on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, delivered a total of seven honours to the group’s Egyptian collection.
Leading the celebration was the Aqua Park at Rixos Premium Seagate, which climbed to the top of the continental leisure category. It is a fitting headline for a portfolio built around water, sun and shoreline: the operator, part of Rixos Hotels, runs destinations in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria, each pairing beachfront living with pools, splash zones and resort-scale entertainment.
Water Park Win Anchors a Leisure-Led Sweep
The aqua accolade sat alongside a strong showing for family and resort experiences, underlining how central play, poolside relaxation and coastal recreation have become to the group’s appeal. From adults-only escapes to villa retreats and heritage stays, the recognitions spanned the full breadth of what Egyptian holidaymakers seek along the Red Sea and Mediterranean coasts.
