According to NZCasinoClub.com, Kiwi sports fans are expected to place record-breaking bets on the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held on home turf this summer. The event, jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia, is scheduled for July and August.

The spokesman for NZCasinoClub.com stated that the increasing popularity of women’s football and the fact that the US is facing strong competition for the coveted FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup winner status make it an exciting time for betting enthusiasts. He also pointed out that the Kiwis love a good competition, and with the event being held in New Zealand, the interest is expected to be through the roof.

Currently, the US is the favourite to win, with odds at +275. However, with England’s women’s team winning the European Championship against Germany last year, they are considered close contenders at +350. Some are even predicting that the England team could topple the USWNT (United States Women’s National Team).

The spokesman also noted that sporting events can throw up big surprises, and while the US and England are leading the odds, Germany, Spain, and France are all strong contenders.

The tournament, with 32 countries competing in eight different groups, is the first time so many teams have been involved, with 24 at the last tournament in 2019. Hosts Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Brazil, and Sweden are also among the top 10 odds for this summer’s tournament.

The spokesman added that the last FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019 saw bets worldwide of around NZD $160m, but they expect this year’s event to generate bets that will far surpass that total.

The tournament kicks off on July 20th with opening games in both New Zealand and Australia on the same day. New Zealand will play Norway at Eden Park, and Australia will be up against Ireland at Stadium Australia, the Olympic stadium in Sydney. The final will take place at Stadium Australia on August 20th. Games will also be held in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide in Australia, and in Wellington, Dunedin, and Hamilton in New Zealand.
