Tumblr has updated I mentioned it in SeptemberModifying its rules to allow nudity on the platform, but not explicit images.

Company Community Guidelines UpdateHe set out rules that were not permissive in her previous sexuality stance, but that allow for more images. “We now welcome a wider range of expression, creativity and art on Tumblr, including content that depicts the human figure (yes, that includes the nude human figure). Tumblr prohibits the use of visual images depicting sexually explicit acts.

You can find more information at Latest Help CenterThe Community Guidelines Provide more details. Tumblr allows text, photos, and videos that contain nudity, offensive language or sexual themes. However, “visual depictions (or content that overtly focuses upon genitals),” is not allowed. The exception is for “art of historic interest” that might be found in major museums that depicts sexual acts, such as the Indian Uga Empire. However, it must be labeled with “sexual themes” tags or adult content so users can filter them from their dashboards.

“Nudity and other types of adult material are generally welcome. We are not here to judge your art, we only ask that you add a community rating to your adult content so that people can choose to filter it from their dashboard if they prefer,” the Community Guidelines. However, users cannot post links or advertisements on “adult-oriented affiliate networks,” they cannot advertise “escort or sexual services,” and they cannot post content that “promotes child sexual abuse,” including “sexually suggestive” content with children pictures.
